Evernew Titanium 400FD Cup
Summary
The Evernew Titanium 400FD Cup represents everything we admire about thoughtfully engineered ultralight equipment. Beautifully manufactured in Japan from premium 0.3mm titanium, it combines exceptional craftsmanship, impressive durability and remarkable versatility in a package weighing just 49g.
With a 400ml capacity, the 400FD functions equally well as a drinking mug, compact cooking pot or eating vessel, making it an ideal companion for backpackers, wild campers and long-distance hikers who appreciate equipment that performs multiple roles without compromise.
Its wide, shallow profile promotes efficient heat transfer, while the integrated graduated measurements make preparing dehydrated meals or hot drinks simple and accurate.
We chose to include the Evernew 400FD in our Collection because it reflects the qualities we value most—thoughtful engineering, purposeful design and a level of refinement that becomes increasingly apparent the more time you spend using it.

Field Review
Some pieces of equipment impress immediately. Others reveal their quality gradually. The Evernew Titanium 400FD firmly belongs in the latter category.
At 49g, it's remarkably lightweight, yet the slightly thicker 0.3mm titanium gives it a reassuring sense of rigidity that inspires confidence during everyday use. The cup itself weighs just 36g, although we wouldn't recommend removing the handles as part of a lightweight setup. Whilst they can technically be removed, they aren't intended for regular removal and refitting. If your goal is a dedicated handleless cup, we'd instead recommend the Apex 0.2mm Titanium Cup, whilst recognising that its thinner titanium requires a little more care in use.
One of the first things we noticed during testing was how comfortable the insulated red silicone handle covers feel. Their slightly larger diameter provides a noticeably more secure grip than many titanium cups we've used, making the 400FD particularly pleasant to hold when enjoying a hot drink around camp.
Should you wish to use the cup directly over an open fire, the silicone handle covers can be removed. Naturally, suitable gloves or another safe means of handling the cup will then be essential.
Evernew has also paid close attention to the details. The raised handle pivots create just enough resistance to keep the handles exactly where you position them, eliminating the loose, floppy feel found on many lightweight alternatives.
Another feature we quickly came to appreciate is the rolled drinking edge. It feels smooth, refined and genuinely comfortable against your lips, adding a subtle sense of quality every time you use the cup. It's one of those small details that quietly distinguishes exceptional cookware from the ordinary.
The internal graduated markings are crisp and easy to read, making it straightforward to measure water accurately for dehydrated meals or drinks. During our testing, we also found the 400ml capacity to be ideal for a generous mug of tea or coffee after a long day on the trail.
From a packing perspective, the 400FD integrates beautifully with Evernew's wider cookware range. It nests neatly inside both the Evernew Ti UL 600 and Evernew Ti UL 900 pots, although there isn't sufficient room to also accommodate both a 100g gas canister and a premium micro-regulated stove such as the SOTO WindMaster.
For those seeking the most refined nesting solution we've assembled, we found the 400FD pairs exceptionally well with the Evernew Macaroni Pot 1000, comfortably accommodating the cup, a 100g gas canister, a SOTO WindMaster, a folding titanium spork and a compact pocket knife within one elegantly organised cooking system.
Who is it for?
The Evernew Titanium 400FD is ideally suited to ultralight backpackers, fastpackers and wild campers who appreciate equipment that performs multiple roles while occupying minimal space in their pack.
It's particularly well suited to those who favour a simple brew-and-boil cooking style and value beautifully engineered equipment that is built to provide many years of dependable service.
Those regularly preparing meals for two or more people may prefer one of Evernew's larger cooking pots.
Things to Consider
- Although the handles can be removed, they are not designed for frequent removal and refitting.
- Remove the silicone handle covers before using the cup directly over an open fire.
- The 400FD will not nest inside the Ti UL 600 or Ti UL 900 alongside both a 100g gas canister and a premium micro-regulated stove.
- If you specifically require a handleless titanium cup, the Apex 0.2mm Titanium Cup may be a more suitable choice.
